1987-1993

In 1987, Versatile was acquired by the Ford tractor division along with New Holland.  Ford New Holland, as it was now called, continued the Versatile line but added the Ford name on the grill.  Soon afterward, the behemoth 470hp model 1156 was released.

By 1989, farmers would no longer see the familiar Versatile red and yellow.  Ford introduced its new blue colour scheme but the Versatile name remained on the new models 846, 876, 946 and 976.
