In 1976, Cornat Industries of British Columbia bought majority share of Versatile. The new models released in the late 70s were the 500, 835, 855, 875 and 935.

By 1980, Versatile adopted a new logo to reflect the company's broader business interests.  Models released in the early 80s included the 555 or 'triple nickel' and the 'Series 3' line.  Most noteworthy was the 470hp versatile 1150

The 'Designation 6' models were released in 1985 and included the 836, 856, 876, 936, 956, and 976.  Other models would follow in later years such as the 756, 846 and 946.
